Jan Bennett is Head of the Department and a former police officer and co-author of "Control Your Divorce" published by Foulsham in 2003. She has appeared on local and regional radio and Womans Hour on Radio 4 advising on family law issues. Jan is a committee member of the Tees Valley Group of Resolution – First for Family Law (formerly SFLA) and a member of the Family Law Society Panel. Much of Jan’s work comes from personal referrals, both from satisfied clients and other professionals.
Natalia Lalas joined Askew Bunting as an Associate Solicitor in 2006 having previously worked at Crutes Law Firm and having worked and studied in Europe. Natalia has experience in both County Court and High Court matters. She deals with all aspects of private law family work and specialises particularly in financial settlements including high net worth cases. Natalia is a trained collaborative lawyer. This is a recent development in the resolution of all family problems. This approach aims to avoid contested court proceedings and to reach a mutually agreeable result, thereby minimising costs and emotional strain.
